As Grace Unfolds in Your Life, Expect Satan to Respond in Our Local Church
Satan hates grace. It is completely and utterly destructive to his kingdom and efforts. His most powerful weapon is lying and deceit, and his most powerful two-edged sword of deceit is legalism and licentiousness.
God loves grace. It is completely and utterly the foundation for His kingdom and efforts. His most powerful weapon is grace and mercy, and His most powerful weapon of grace is a two-edged sword of forgiveness and faithfulness.
The two are like oil and water. They simply do not mix. And believe me, churches and Christians try it all the time. Our own church was born out of a struggle between these two weapons warring against each other...legalism and licentiousness versus forgiveness and faithfulness.
As I look forward to beginning our series on Scandalous Grace on June 6, I also look with expectation on for the enemy to begin launching attacks against our church family. Since he hates grace so much, he will fight back with everything he's got, stirring up legalism (in the name of holiness, of course), and licentiousness (in the name of grace, of course). He's so crafty. And he's so destructive. He and his demons know what buttons to push in your life so that you will react with one of these two lies rather than respond with a firm hold on the grace of God.
This is a call for prayer and fasting together as a church family. This promises to be one of the most significant series we've undertaken as a local church, because grace promises to be the most significant truth for any local church. Covenant together as a family, as a couple, or among friends to pray and fast for a breakthrough of enlightenment as the eyes of our hearts are opened to see the glorious calling we have in Christ through grace. Fast together as a warring effort against the attacks of Satan and his demons who will give all they have to thwart the freedom and liberty their captives are about to experience.
